About the role:
Machine Maintenance is responsible for the well-being of all production equipment and processes on the production floor.
This will include assisting in the initial equipment set-up or subsequent equipment movement, including equipment placement on the floor, alignment with adjacent pieces of equipment, hook-up to utilities as needed.
Machine Maintenance will provide first responder corrective maintenance to resolve all equipment or process failures, including equipment unscheduled downtime, process out-of-control issues, or process yield issues.
Machine Maintenance will perform all preventative maintenance procedures.
Machine Maintenance will implement equipment modifications necessary to resolve process failures, obtain cycle-time reductions or address safety concerns.
Machine maintenance will perform equipment changeovers as required.
Essential Job Responsibilities Production equipment troubleshooting and corrective maintenance, including the repair or replacement of electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical or pneumatic components and sub-assemblies.
Perform all production equipment preventative maintenance in accordance with scheduled work orders and pm instructions.
Perform equipment changeovers as required, and in accordance with production schedule needs.
Test equipment to verify proper operation following corrective maintenance, preventative maintenance, changeovers or extended downtimes, as required.
Make necessary process adjustments in response to process out of control conditions, excessive scrap or other process yield issues.
Assist in the movement and placement of all equipment on the production floor.
Perform equipment leveling and alignments, as required.
Perform equipment disconnect and hook-up to utilities including line voltages up to 480 volts, compressed air, nitrogen, and vacuum.
Perform equipment modifications, including simple parts fabrication, mounting and wiring of components and modification check-out for proper operation.
Generate purchase requisitions to replace parts consumed during corrective maintenance or preventative maintenance.
Record all activities in the maintenance log database, including corrective maintenance, preventative maintenance, changeovers, and other activities as required.
Notify management when first response actions are unable to resolve unscheduled downtimes, process out-of-control points or process yield issues.
Seek additional assistance in accordance with the published Maintenance Protocol procedure.
Attend equipment training classes as required by the deployment of new processes and equipment, and as directed by management.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Comply with and support the health, safety, and environmental programs.
Minimum Job Requirements Education and/or
Experience:
A High School or GED diploma is required, along with vocational training in electro-mechanical repair, or an A.
A.
S.
in Electrical or Mechanical technology.
Three to five years of recent experience as a maintenance associate in a manufacturing environment may be substituted for vocational training or an A.
A.
S.
degree.

Skills:
Reading and interpreting equipment manuals, electrical schematics, mechanical detail drawings and other technical documents.
Ability to perform electrical, mechanical and electro-mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
Familiarity with electrical and pneumatic actuators, electric motors, relays, thermocouples, proximity switches, and other components.
Familiarity with the safe operation of basic hand and power tools.
Ability to perform voltage, current and resistance measurements, and dimensional measurements with calipers.
Ability to perform lockout/tagout procedures.
Basic computer skills are required.
